About Katie.
Hi, I’m Katie, and I am happy you found me. I have always had a big heart and have cared deeply for others. I feel honored that my career allows me to do just that. I have overcome a wide range of traumas and obstacles in life, and I believe those experiences give me deep empathy for others.
During graduate school, a professor once said, “You can only take clients as far as you are willing to go.” I believe that the personal growth, self-awareness, and emotional healing I have achieved through my own work, combined with my extensive professional training, equip me to support you wherever you need to go in your healing journey.
The phrase “in relationships we are wounded, and in relationships we heal” captures a fundamental truth about being human: our deepest hurts often arise from our relational experiences. However, authentic and healing connections are also where profound healing takes place. I understand firsthand how humbling and challenging therapy can be. I also know personally how much a person’s life can truly change when they receive support from a safe, compassionate, and loving individual. Someone who can provide a space where you feel safe enough to be fully known, and who is willing to witness and guide you through the depths of pain.

Katie Shiraz, LPC
I am a Licensed Professional Counselor in Colorado. I have a Master of Science degree in Counseling Psychology from Palm Beach Atlantic University. Since 2008, I have worked with clients dealing with various mental health issues. In 2015, I received training in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), and in 2019, I was trained in Internal Family Systems (IFS). Both of these therapeutic models are particularly effective for clients healing from PTSD and Complex PTSD. I offer a person-centered approach to therapy and include CBT, EMDR, and IFS techniques in my work with clients. If you are seeking help with childhood trauma or other mental health challenges, I am committed to partnering with you on your journey toward healing. Together, we can work to address the pain of the past, allowing you to become more fully engaged in the present.
My areas of focus include:
Anxiety
Depression
Family of origin issues
Low self-esteem
Panic attacks
Self-growth
Spiritual abuse
Survivors of abuse
Transitioning to parenthood
Trauma, including childhood trauma or Complex PTSD
